I heard that Cirrus Logic has discontinued production of the CS43198 and has no plans to resume production in 2022.
Instead of producing the DX300 2021 using the CS43131, they released the DX240?

Then DX300 might be the least life-shelf product. Otherwise we may see the new minor change of DX300 pretty soon. Hopefully, the newer one will get the new better CPU likes Snapdragon778G which having excellent power consumption.

Anyway, being serious... the following is my experience sharing

Doing rolling gear...
I always experienced a hit & miss when a Headphone drive direct to DAP.
ZMF VC(Auteur Earpad) direct to DX300 (UAPP).
Hit, The dynamic and transient sounds felt the VC is almost drive properly, sense of depth and well separation create very detail imaging.
Miss, not the wide Soundstage that I heard when using a proper AMP. but not an intimate sounds either.
been more in to Headphone in portable usage lately...

Just a quick remark: Z5 is definitely the best pairing to DX300 from my collection, especially for jazz, acoustics, vocals and pop, enjoying these a lot with NOS and probably keeping this setup as a main for a while.

Hey, yes - and DAC mode works fine. Its just nit detecting as an external hard drive for me to transfer music onto my device store/sd card.

I'm using Commander one, a file manager and it works fine with it. Else you need to install Android file transfer but it's a big piece of crap!

Thanks to the mod job done by Whitigir, I'm set to recieve my AMP12W today, will update on my own impressions on how it sounds afterwards.....

Are there any first sound impressions? I know it's a little early because of the branding. But did you immediately notice anything in particular?

I've never had AMP12 so I jumped straight to AMP12W, it's definitely less colored than AMP11.2, more even in the tonal spectrum. Layering, imaging and dynamics are more apparent than AMP11.2.
But I've never had AMP12 before, the staging depth might of as well been more lively than the stock AMP12.

After a more thorough burn in at at least 100 hours, I expect the differences in the gap between AMP11.2 and AMP12W to be even wider.

If you are in Mango OS, there is a MTP switch in Settings. Mango App has something similar.

Found this in the Manual:

Connect the DX300 to the computer using the furnished USB-C cable. The DX300 will show on the computer as an external storage. Users can transfer files by copying and pasting. *If you are using a Mac computer, please make sure the MTP software Android File Transfer is installed.

Any particular strategy? Would you prefer using the burn in cable or plug in headphones (something with impedance) when burning in AMP12W? What volume would you set for the burn in?

I usually have it plugged to my ZMF VO at 60 percent volume playing a high res album looped.

has anyone else seen this?

i've had a few occasions where i've selected a folder to play (containing an album), and the song sequence does not
go through everything but repeats a track i've already heard.
this is in mango, i haven't checked with uapp yet.
