Agreed, and coming from me, the dongle from Ibasso is designed to specifically benefit from the Balanced out into single ended out. Do not use anything else than Ibasso official dongle, you can add extensions
Works for E02 - which is 4.4mm only - is there a reason it wouldn't work also for amp 12? (Asking because I'm on verge of buying DX312)

I spoke with Paul some time ago and asked him for that cable, it costs about 13 dollars, contact him and he will give you the guidelines for payment and shipping

Different design, different brands.

Pentaconn is standard, but the ability to differentiate and act from being a Balanced out into Single ended out are not standard, period. You can try though

Has this been tested before ? . Would be great if it works . Ive been holding off getting the Amp12 because my main headphone is unbalanced only (Grado PS500e).

Quick look

—————————————————

OK

Earphones> balanced cable> balanced in port on dap

Earphones> single ended cable> single ended port on dap.

Earphones> balanced cable> balanced to single ended adapter (from a main brand)> to single end port on dap

—————————————————

Possibly possible, or not. Generally advised against doing.

Earphones> Single ended > single ended to balanced adapter > to balanced port on dap

- theres a few adapters out there. ddhifi probably most possible…but it does not function with all daps…

Many badly made or incorrect ones available on line - blow your dap up

(I myself prefer not to risk it).

* just get the right cable
* even with an adapter you will NOT get any benefits of the balanced port, it will not magically transform your earphones or headphones to balanced.

———————————————

For a PROPER line out dedicated port
Dap >Line out port>4.4mm to 3.5mm cable >>
(To external amplifier or car etc).

- possible

Email iBasso for their cable that comes with the DX300MAX/DX220MAX

Middle cable.

From looking at the link, it is using the same pins/contacts as the ibasso dongle.

I use the supplied ibasso dongle with a gold plated adapter, so I can use my existing cables.

It is a 3.5 female to RCA 👍

Yes, you use the line out output with the dongle to control the DX300 to a car power amplifier via chinch or any other amplifier with a chinch input. We are talking about the ddhifi adapter for headphones or IEMs. That's a huge difference.

That adapter is exactly the same layout as the supplied ibasso dongle.

It will work but according to @Whitigir , since the dongle was actually meant to be used for line out, so same must apply to this (electrically same pinout) adapter.

Yes, it will only work with Ibasso provided dongle. You can then buy an adapter extension. However, this is only with Line Out, and not Amp out

Therefore you need to verify with ibasso, if you decide to do this on "amp out".
There's no question it will work.
The question is if it is safe to do so.
