So far.... ten new declared owners of the Titanium 3MAX.. are members here. Hopefully more will confirm and join in. Let me know and I'll update the listing straight away.

Yes I caved in. I sold my Traillii + Orphy combo so I had some “extra” cash lying around 🤭

Whether I’ll keep it in the long run I don’t know , I have to hear it though.
What? You bought your original Traillii, sold it, bought a custom Traillii and now sold it, too?

10 out of 50. This means there are 4 times as many head-fi crazies out there somewhere! Suddenly I don’t feel so awkward hanging out here haha!

Beside ERO Capacitors which is Films capacitors. There appears to be Polymer or Film capacitors of other brand at the first stage of the power supply VS the SS is having one single Stage of Coupling. There also appears to have the output capacitors to be with modern ERO film caps (Vishay) and other film caps VS the SS which utilize Phillips Electrolytic

from many experiences passing down and even within the engineers themselves, film capacitors are the real capacitors without cheating, and also coincidentally is the best one for sound performances

So from this point on, allow me to skip the “neither deny nor confirm” status. Technically the Titanium has a better build and hence it is an upgrade under my view. Why have I been waiting for titanium all this time ?

Subjective performances will need to have it at my hands first

Also, given how it is connected internally, you can probably swap out the amp modules from SS to Ti.

I would expect a noticeable tonal difference given the significant changes in the caps. It depends on which way iBasso went...

Yes, one could do that if they are skillful enough as I mentioned. If Ibasso is willing to sell the Titanium Amp module. So you have 2 big factors in place

But then again, as I said, nothing stopping anyone from replicating the Titanium Amp sections

So based off what you saw about the different internal caps, do you think the $1000 price increase is justified?

Hell, I think the amp module itself alone is easily $500-$700 increased. I don’t even know how much the amp module is by itself. Then the Titanium as a chassis is possibly another $800-900

Ibasso always bring me the question “how in the Heck could they produce it at such prices”

For example, the amp module look to be high failure rate as it is hand soldered and very complicated so. Then there are 2 exotic ERO caps that could go anywhere from $100-200 a pop … 2X !!!

I can conclude that easily if I was to modify my SS myself with all of what Ibasso did, it would cost me an easy $500….given that it was a successful upgrade in 1 shot

All gibberish to me but I’ll take your word for it. 😂 All I know is iBasso tends to produce excellent SQ at their price points, so if they’re charging $3300 USD for something.. I am expecting it to be pretty… damn… good. 👀
