I was quite surprised that I did not quite like it. Connected it to the DX160 and using my HD650. There is 2 possibilities here. Either I am more of a solid state person, or the tubes were not warmed up enough. I was in a hurry as my CFO (wife) was waiting in the car. 😂😅

Did not wanna make an impulsive purchase.

That's what I read. Many people have positive experience with it. Need to find chance to go back and try again. How long do you normally have to warm it before the sound eases in?

Coincidentally, a friend let me try his iFi Nano Black Label and it was quite good. There is a good punch to it and clarity was awesome. Found a good deal on the second hand site and bought it.

Then I realised that the only input available is the recessed USB A port which is kinda crappy because that meant I can't charge my DX160 while using if the battery gets low as it has to be connected to the USB C port of the DX160.
Thank you

Regarding the Cayin N3Pro vs the DX160

Which sounds better this one or dx160?
Definitely N3Pro, ( 3.5mm tube mode ) gives more details, energetic, fleshy sounds.
It sounds more natural and "real" to my ears.
The first time I hear such a rich and sweet vocal coming from a DAP instead of a MiniDisc player.

How does the soundstage, instrument separation and clarity compare?
N3Pro has better instrument separation and clarity in 4.4mm and 3.5mm,
Soundstage is similar for both in 4.4mm, DX160 has wider soundstage in 3.5mm.
I think most of the people buying N3Pro because of its sweetest 3.5mm tube mode vocal.

Could you guys recommend good pair of IEMs under 400$ to get for this DAP?
moondrop blessing 2 sounds excellent with dx160. However, make sure it matches your tonal preference.

Could someone explain me digital filters please? What's the difference between Fast Roll Off and NOS?
NOS is a Non OverSampling filter, all other filters are oversampling filters.

Personally i like the Short Delay Fast roll off as i find it has the best soundstage.

Recieved Little bear b4-x today and tried with DX160.

I like the result so far. I can't explain in fancy audiophile terminology but it makes vocal "fuller" "sweeter" , brings mids forward. Makes music a little bit more "colorful". Tried to unplug headphones from amp and plug it back to the DAP many times to hear the difference. Indeed those tubes making music more "3D" while DX160 without amp sounds "flat" now
