So it uses lithium polymer battery, has separate LR opamp and that huge aluminum alloy monoblock is a mount base?! Thank goodness it is optional item or this will be really expensive.

The alloy base is everything. A true must and you have nothing without it. :^)

Good news indeed, finally a high end player that's (probably) going to have good software, and a one-piece alternative to an iPhone + DAC/amp rig.

End game DAP probably...

That means an excellent dac, what I will bet will be a very good amp section to go with it and upgradeable software, since it is Android. Looks good to me.

I'd prefer that they take their time - ask Fiio about the pitfalls of rushing a new DAP into production.

If the ics are available, the production takes more or less the same time, as any other similar electronic product. The critical stuff is in the engineering phase. We do not want to have hardware bugs or software bugs, at least not at the discussed price point.

possible hardware bugs:

- noise caused by the screen
- too high temperature
- one-drop-breaking-components
- your imagination

I agree; let them take their time & release a stable product. Well built and capable. We can wait. Can't we?
