Regarding the currencies.

In my previous post about an Australian shop giving away Mojo+Poly with any new TT2 being a good or bad deal I wasn't exactly referring to the numbers on the bank notes but to the actual value.
There are a lot of countries with many zeros on their bank notes but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. It is just the nature of currencies.
A US citizen first time seeing a bank note over '1000' proves only ignorance and lack of travelling.

A country having 10.000 notes or higher doesn't necessarily mean it has a weaker economy. It is way more complex than that.

What I meant was 8500 AUD is almost 6000 GBP which actually is more than a TT2, Mojo and Poly in the UK as the three items would cost just under 4900 GBP in the UK.
I know, import taxes and custom fees are a crazy rip off, but the currency exchange puts the Australian deal of the century in perspective.

This has nothing to do with certain countries having higher value notes than the actual US dollar. Bringing up the old lira is absolutely irrelevant in this case. Although interesting.

Please don't get distracted by the humorous comments from other posters.
I checked the prices using a currency converter, and thought that based on the sole criterion of exchange rate that the bargain was less than first appeared.
But then i focused on the statement 'at participating dealers only', and decided if the dealers in france had offered a similar offer, that would have been interesting, and i guess that a similar philosophy would apply to the UK as well.
Sadly the offer appears to be Australia only, so I shall not get stressed out about it.

I doubt UK (or EU) retailers would ever do such offer. That would basically mean they are giving away all their profit.

Nope. I' m from sicily:ksc75smile:
The lira had too much zeros. So my father earned every month 1.200.000 lire one million and two hundred lire. But we were not rich

Just as I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

I knew it was you Freddo :kissing_heart:

So, what you are saying is, Italy using the euro, saved it's life ?

Just think, it could of been much worse, you could of lived in zimbabwe and been a multi trillionaire.

Some of them will be using mojopoly on trips into the outback. So when you factor in everything it could be a good or bad deal depending i think.

That reminds me, my new micro sd card arrived a couple of days ago, my last card died in poly a week ago ( I have no idea why and I'm not blaming poly ) but I'm hesitant to stick the new card in poly.

The new card works ok in windows, it's a samsung class 10 U3 card. In windows it is getting 90mb write speeds and it's loaded with hires tunes, but I'm suffering from a pseudo Robocop directive, "Protect the sd card".

I will be gutted if I put it in poly and it dies, it's a dilemma, what should I do, keep it as extra storage for my nuc, or do I stick it in poly so I can use quick play ???

No doubt I will stick it back in poly, but I will wait til monday, as I will be able to moan at Matt "live & direct " during office hours if it happens again. :)

Then there must be something here i don't understand?? Copy it before putting in poly. Unless that's the master copy.

I never checked the conversion rate folks, but looking now google converter gives me £4740.19. Still expensive, but if that's the regular AUS price due to import taxes I guess a good deal still for the combo? But all these things are relative to avg. earnings in the country in question anyway. When I travelled to Norway it was horrendously expensive as a Brit, but for the locals who earn loads more than me in Blighty it wasn't a problem..

Losing the data is not the problem.

My last sd card was in poly and gofigure said something about gofigure or poly needing to reboot, once it rebooted the sd card inside poly was dead.

My hesitation about sticking a new card in poly is because I don't know what caused it to die, maybe it could of just been the sd cards time to die naturally, who knows ?

RIP .....all good sd cards must come to an end during a track.lol

My pm1 headphone has consistently scaled upwards very nicely from computer to mojo to hugo2 to hugo2 mscaled. I've decided to visit my dealer this Friday taking with me the pm1 to do a comparison between mH2 and mTT2. I can only afford either a dac upgrade or a headphone upgrade but not both. Ideally i would go for uber resolving cans and TT2. If for any reason my pm1 doesn't scale upwards significantly with mTT2 then i will probably stick to my mH2 and add a Sony mdr z1r headphone which i've been eyeing for a while after auditioning at Richer Sounds. However and this is what i'm hoping for......i want my pm1 to scale up nicely ie 2K's worth with the mTT2 and i'll then trade in my H2 beginning of September and take my new TT2 finances allowing.

I will be looking for added warmth and transparency, greater instrument separation and will observe how the extra current the TT2 supplies affects my low impedance 32 ohm headphones.

Sounds like a nice upgrade path. The TT2 is on my radar and will be the last stop for me DAC/Amp wise.
