Here's how I dealt with HMS cables, when I had my Chords. Cables separated to reduce RFI, full WAF compliance. The only problem - you'll need to rebuild furniture if you decide to switch to full size components.

That is a cool idea for handling cables!

Yes!! Just delivered. Gosh they're heavy! Will need to think about supports either end of BNC connections. Nice leather case!

I am considering adding an M Scaler to my TT2. I currently feed the TT2 via the optical out on my (high-end) motherboard. The table breaking down sample rates in the M Scaler's manual really confuses me!

If I use optical in, am I limited by what comes out of the M Scaler into my TT2? In order words, to take full advantage, do I need to feed the M Scaler via USB from my computer?

No, you will get all 1 million taps with scaling up to 705.6KHz when feeding 44.1KHz music over optical. There is no disadvantage with optical.

If you watch video from your PC and you've set it to output 48KHz sample rate during video playback, you will find the "video mode" feature of M Scaler useful. It changes the scaling to reduce the lip-synch issue that the full 1 million taps would otherwise introduce. The manual explains this.

If your video playback software has the ability to play the audio about 0.7s earlier than the video, you can use the full 1 million taps scaling feature. Turn off the "video mode" to use this ability.

Ah, great! The manual really confused me. I am able to do 24/192 no problem via optical - I assume that those higher rates are resampled to the full 768? In other words, optical is no different from USB in terms of functionality?

Yes, optical is no different.

Hmm. Are you certain from experience? The manual really does seem to suggest otherwise. I have also heard that the optical input is limited to 176.4, as opposed to 192.

That chart is for the mScaler output. If you also use optical to output the s scaled music, you will be limited. You need dual BNC output from the mScaler to get 1 million taps, which you will get from any input, even optical.

I’m a bit confused re src-dx. This is from latest manual. It appears with only one bnc cable and 44.1 in then max mscaler output is 352.8. If 2 cables are used then max output is 705. @Triode User , what us your take. 2 cables may be required?
