How many wide-screen film formats do you think there are? Enough to put letterbox on any screen. You just need to get the material in its original format. Its a shame so many movies are butchered and now we have wide TV's for watching them.

I generally would agree but there are some odd casses where this doesn't prove to be true. Such examples include James Cameron prefering the 4:3 version of Terminator 2 over the original aspect ratio (OAR), and Stanley Kubric (spelling?) prefered the 4:3 version of 2001: A Space Oddesey over the OAR. Though in both casses I preferred how they where displayed theatricallly (21:9).

To me the final presentation of the film is up to more then just the director, and thus in both casses I think the director preffered the butchered version.

Well that makes one. Typos happen all the time on forums, so please give it a rest and stay on topic.

Yeah, you're right. I don't even know how to spell his name.

P.S. (but b.s.)
It all started here.
I got upset because he did it on purpose.
If I did not asked he (what's his name?) wouldn't have done it.
Childlish stupidity! Dummy!
(He finally backed off.)

By the way, because of what he did, I wanted to launch this thread to see whether you guys
had any difficulties with very wide pictures.

Then he declared How long have you been on the Head-Fi.org ...?
an inane poll/thread. Dummy again.

Now, on this thread he's been disrespectful to me again.
See post#2. Read what he's barking about.

His extreme jealousy makes him blind.

So he has 'clashed' with me three times.

I suggest to him (what's his name?) this:

Ask your Daddy, ask your Mommy,
Why have you made me so dummy?

Anyway, let's move on!

What I have written, I have written

fraseyboy, I don't think I see any popular netbook resolution in that top-10.

Someone may have already pointed this out, but I think 1920x1080 is becoming more popular (since it's 1080p), but I think it is still a long way from replacing 1920x1200 in the computer realm (it wouldn't surprise me if 24" monitors become more and more common with the 1080 versus the 1200). I'm no display expert, so I could be wrong about all of this.

That's what I've thought - ha, ha, ha, ha, ... - and therefore I dedicate this and that to You!

Now, without kidding, I'd like to have the WHUXGA 7680×4800 display.
Am I asking for too many pixels?

Oh right. I got 1280x800 mixed up with 1280x600 which is what my sisters Acer Aspire One's 9" screen runs at.

I guess 1280x800 is just a smallish laptop?
