This thread is seriously messing with me. I'm so glad that I live in Wisconsin, where the largest spider I usually see are Wolf Spiders, and those still scare the crap out of me.

There is a spider in greece that is responsible for a few human deaths.It's a rare one and can be found only in the fields in the country,and not everywhere in greece.
For what i remember,it's a very small one,but it's bite is poisunus.

As for the ones the op and -germania- showed...

That is one serious spider. Catching such a bird in the web and wrap it up...
Thank god the spiders around here is max an inch or so long.

Vacuum cleaner to the rescue. You then spray a bit of fly spray up the tube.

Those huge spiders are only seen in far north Queensland. Until the news report with that bird-eating one, I never even knew they existed! They are certainly not common.
