  I'm waiting now for LOD cable to check how good is 901's line out. I have one question though - should I set the volume at maximum level (like with iBasso players) while connecting 901 via line out to my amp?

It is a fixed level line out from LOD at 2.1Vrms and the line out is just as good assuming your amp is transparent enough. Volume should be controlled using your preamp/amp.

Thanks. My dx100 becomes better once I plug it via LO to my DIY amp. So I need to check the same with 901.

The line out is excellent, due to a headphone balance problem i have been using a Lehmann Traveller with great success, my line out does not have the balance problem.

The line out of the HM-901 is a "true" line out. HM-901 via LO sounds really, really impressive when connected to a high end amplifier. From a SQ point of view I could easily do with that as my sole digital source!

For update the firmware you have to use a FAT32 card. It can be a 1GB or less (the firmware is less than 100 MB). For storage and playback music you can use both, FAT32 and exFAT.

i need to know how will the OS hold up with a big library like 10000 + or even 5000 + songs,
 
also in a big folder, is there a fast way to scroll between files, or i will have to scroll the wheel like forever ?
 
Is there like a converter between micro sd to the pin socket used in the hm901 to charge it anywhere, or the block charger must be used ?
 
Also, iam torn between the hm901 and zx2, if some one would like to share some advice, it will be much appreciated !

I have used a 64gig full of 16/44 flac that's over 100 LPs
that's 1200+ songs.
What format are you using ?
 
I find the OS fine to use, the scrolling is quick and easy to read, not as nice looking as my Lumia 930
for sure but I have no real complaints, especially using firmware 2.001
 
The charger is the only PITA the 901 has, there are no options.

If music isn't playing you can press and hold the Next/Forward button and it will scroll for you. However, there is no way to jump over folders/tracks.
 
I only use folder browsing since albums with various artist are listed with one album per artist in "Albums". For example the 6CD album "100 Love Songs" has almost 100 listings when I browse by Albums using tag.

I have had conflicting answers,but I believe the exchange scheme is happening in China first, then ROW
however it's not an exchange per se, your 901 is reshelled into 901s case, it will not be a 901s.
