Short of cracking one open... I would think the PR/FR switch just switches the inline resistor.  No different than Ety including the P2S adapter.  Difference being I can use the adapter on my other iems.

Not at all.

Sure that would have been the simple way of doing things.....   but that isn't what Noble did.

There are two different x-over net works, dedicated to each driver(s).

The A/B switch sends current (signal) to:

1)  Crossover "A" that corresponds to its dedicated driver(s) (at NO POINT IN TIME are the drivers shared mixed etc)

when the switch is "flipped" the current then shifts over to

2) Crossover "B" that corresponds to its dedicated driver (s) (at NO POINT IN TIME are the drivers shared mixed etc)

The drivers do not share, tubing, dampers, or any components within the x-over net work.

The FR and PR are litterally two products in one housing.

The review goes further in depth regarding the mechanics of the FR and PR as well.

Thanks! This sounds like an interesting read.

Huh.  That is a much clearer explanation than the original press release =)  I stand corrected.

I did consider the idea of x-over tweeking via a switch....   is also considered turnning off drivers as well. IE going from a 5 to a 3 etc

But in that case they would share tubing, dampers etc.

Ultimatley, I thought that haveing independent systems within one housing would be a more unique approach, and more of a challenge as well.

So that is the direction I went.

My itch began again, as I'm selling my RWAK. So, assuming I can sell the 1540, I have $850 in hand to spend. Lol.

Now looking at bit more interesting options.
Nobles 6
1+2
K3003i

I'm leaning towards 1+2. Is there anywhere I might be able to get used 1+2 for around $900-1000? Or should I just buy one new?

First ever commercially available

Well, yeah, you are right but I think you got my point and what I am trying to say. I am also waiting to see your 8S and K10S

Wow. I just went for the SE846.

From my memory, out of:
Ultrasone IQ, Senn IE800, AKG K3003i, UM 3DD, UM Miracle, ES5, JH13,

SE846 had my favorite signature. There were two another major candidates that I demoed and liked(JH13 and TG334), but the fit(as well as isolation) was the best on SE846. It also has my favorite bassy with engaging mids, relaxed treble signature. Anyways, I have a pair coming from a fellow head-fier, and I will post impressions on them vs UERM, especially on the treble part. I haven't been using my UERM recently...

Anyways, that ends my weeks of misery. So until I get more money for another high tier iem, farewell. Oh, but I will post an impression here.

Welcome to the team =)  The 846 really killed my drive to try other top shelf universals.  Molds killed my drive for customs

I would like to know how you find 3dd vs se846.

I am now a 846 and hd600 owner and i do love the sound signature of hd600 more while still loving my 846. I demoed the miracle and merlin, they are surely better in other aspects in the 846 but the bass and mid are really great on the 846. The bass is just lacking in the miracle, and the mid are just too reccessed in both miracle and merlin, i expect at least as forward as the hd600, which i find its positioning is the most appropriate.
