Should be a nice match for the Susvara, sweet!
It is ! I can't stop listening and grinning. I won't tell you the price. It's indecent.

Finally found an ss amp to partner my tube amp for Susvara. Some owners look after their gear and this Musical Fidelity X-150 is as new as when the owner bought it 10 years ago. In 2018, he brought it back to Len Wallis Audio, the same shop he bought it from, to have a full service, which means a new custom transformer and upgraded parts installed. When I went to his place yesterday to pick it up, he demo the amp driving his speakers in the lounge to a room filling volume and the volume dial is just at slightly above 1/4 level. The X-150 putting out 75w into 8 ohms and 150w into 4ohms is a high current amp.
So I got it home and have been listening to how it perform with my Axis VoiceBox S speakers and Susvara.... most of last night. Axis Voicebox S is 83dB and 5ohms and Susvara is 83dB and 60ohms. MF X-150 handled both of them without a problem with the volume dial sitting at just 9 am. Tonally it has been described as warm and lush with a gutsy bass, astounding clarity, transparency and a very wide soundstage. I agree after listening to Susvara with it. This one's a keeper.
If you're looking for stereo intergrated amps for Susvara, I suggest you also look at Musical Fidelity and Naim. You won't be disppointed.
What brand is your headphone stand? I like it.
I’m trying to drive them with my lyngdorf TDAI 1120 and it’s fatiguing.

It’s a bit hard to explain but kind of how if you have a listening session at very high volume, the ears need rest and one doesn’t feel like listening to music for a while. Similar thing but even at low volumes. The intensity gets fatiguing. This is the first speaker amp I’ve tried. From what I can tell, some people have been very happy with Sus connected to various class D amps. So can you please elaborate a bit in what sense that Lyngdorf device is fatiguing to you with these cans?
But the lyngdorf is quite sensitive to power cord changes, with the soundstage and dynamics varying wildly when I’m switching between the 2-3 cords I have at hand and I’ve just placed an order for a Supanova let’s see if that helps

It is indeed a great marriage. I love the combination of Flux Volot and my new Susvara.Well said. When I got my Sus a few weeks ago, I was emotionally overwhelmed. Driving with a Benchmark AHB2. Reading about your Flux VOLOT - congrats on what looks like a great marriage!!
It has been a great weekend of listening to and enjoying music. I laughingly commented to my friend that this is end game (we all do it don't we), but Susvara is such a leap ahead for me (I previously owned HD800 and LCD 2 headphones). Luckily, I have been improving the quality of my source and amplification for a few years so when the Susvaras arrived they were in good company.Fasten your seatbelt please, it's going to be quite the weekend for you
Will surely share my findings when I doThanks! The odds are that your amp and Sus will show what that active cable of ours does and please let us know once you have it
A bit off-topic, but you seem very knowledgable. Finally found an ss amp to partner my tube amp for Susvara. Several years ago I had a Sunfire (Carver) 300W per channel amp. Bought it in the 1980's I think. Sold it and big floor-standing speakers when Sonos came out. Kinda been kicking myself ever since. Turns out there are a few of these still floating around for about $1,000. The price surpised me because I thought they'd be more.
Out of nostalgia, I'm tempted to grab one. Or is the technology simply so old that a purchase for an audiophile would be silly.
Would love any quick thoughts.
Not knowledgable but learning in the process. Some of these established names still exist and their technology are not outdated. Brands such as Naim, Musical Fidelity, Gryphon, Bryston still exist and are very well known in audiophile circles.
I love big powered amps for big inefficient speakers. Some speakers just demand it. That Sunfire 300w is sure juicy but will be an overkill for Susvara. There wouldn't be much play on the volume dial.
A quick search on the internet and you can see it was very well regarded in it's time. https://hometheaterhifi.com/volume_2_1/productr.html
I'm still so rapped with X150 driving Susvara. It's just so right tonally and that punch.
