HiFiMan Susvara

Nothing wrong with my DAC. As stated before, 6vrms output on a DAC is apparently an important consideration. DAVE is also a 6vrms output while the Sabre is 4. I listen to music a bit louder than most people and I am running the volume set up boost to +10db. It's not like the volumes I am getting are unlistenable, I just can't get it as loud as I want sometimes without it clipping. I suppose this just isn't the amp for me.

Wonder if it is the music itself? I'm listening to a favourite of mine (Pictures at an Exhibition) on DSD right now with the Susvara and I'm loving what I'm hearing.

Just running some numbers (83dB/mW and 60 ohms):

Keep the amp, swap the DAC. :p

Lol, I agree!

That said, the Dynahi is a bit too etched in the treble to my ears and the GS-X mini perfectly builds on it and offers a more analog sound that is both very detailed and tonally easier on the ears. The HPA4 is bang on neutral to my ears and the Dynahi on the brighter side and the GS-X mini on the warmer side (but not by much).

Hmm, I haven't had any qualms with the treble on the Dynahi. The one thing that I do really love about the pairing that makes it better than anything else for me is the low end and dynamics. Dynahi allows the susvara to slam quite hard without losing any control and it really brings it back to feeling a bit more like a much higher resolution version of hifiman's past lineup, which I absolutely adore. I also haven't heard an amp that can do dynamics as with the susvara either, it really does make for an "exciting" sounding combo.

certainly 6K is to say the least pricey...that said todays going price which is far below the 6K retail price makes these a relative bargain because they truly are fantastic

For anyone who currently has a pair, are your drivers identical/asymmetrical? Or is one driver positioned ever so slightly differently to the other? Have a look at the images I posted.
I have no idea if this is an issue or not, or if it will affect sound given as the magnets are still placed identically, just something I noticed.

On my right driver I can see some curved traces/black lines at the front, whereas on the left the driver seems to be further forward with these obscured underneath the housing.
On my aryas by comparison the driver traces are a mirror image of eachother.
Still waiting for my AHB2 to arrive so haven't had a chance to really evaluate them in terms of sound.

Would anyone mind checking to see if their drivers also have slightly different positioning?
