I use Ted Allen T2 Silver. I mainly get cables for ergonomics. It's a really nice and soft cable. I haven't experienced significant sound difference with different cables.

I knew I liked these headphones, but after 5 months without them, I forgot how truly awesome they are. I spent 3 hours last night listening and wow. What a great pair of headphones.

Can anyone tell based on specs which amp has more balanced output power between Violectric V281 vs Soundaware P1? The V281 is rated at 2.8w/channel @32Ohm and even 5.6w/channel at 100Ohm. Susvara is 60ohms, so you take the midpoint? The P1 only lists volts.

Now my MHA100 is sold, I'm also looking at Simaudio Moon Neo 430HAD.

the 281 is the best of the bunch...very versatile...ample power and sounds very clean....i used to own the 430 and the 281 is better....

Cool. I may just get the v281. Looks like there is no need to spend the extra for volume relay. All versions should sound similar.

I see iFi Pro iCan in your signature :) How is the iFi vs v281?

both more than ample...in fact the ican is more powerful but i think the 281 is better

Does Susvara have very different sound signature with ican vs 281? My experience has been that way with the 3 amps I have tried.

HeadAmp GS-X Mini with the DACT stepped attenuator upgrade is what I'd get for the Susvara in that price range. Can't beat the component quality or transparency for the price, plenty of power for it (I used an extremely similar amp with the HE-6) and all of that power is pure class A unlike most alternatives. No opamps in the signal path or small mediocre power transformers here, and the option for actual high quality volume control.

Is opamp different than amps like gsx and hpa1? Still learning...

Yes it's different, it's a chip based device while HeadAmp and Pass Labs will use fully discrete devices in circuits with no negative feedback, which can measure better (and will in the case of those specific amps) and will sound more transparent. The less gunk in the signal path, the better. Granted the Violectric stuff are not chip based amps, perhaps opamps are only used for converting single ended input to balanced. Not sure what else they might be used for in that amp.

Thanks! Is the V281 an opamp? Niimbus? Are they fully discrete devices?
