Not 'probably', I have an r2r2000 red and a WM1A (amongst others). The WM1A only comes out for long flights due to its battery life. I'd rank it fourth in my players - Hiby RS6, A&K SA700, R2R2000 only just ahead or equal with a Cowan P1 and a Cayin N3Pro. Don't get me wrong its not bad - better than any Fiio and most Shanlings/iBasso of the same price range - it just doesn't have the same command of midrange and timbral differences that the R2R has.

Very likely as once you go R2R... Want the Sony sound pick up a used A55 and install CFW will be close to the TOL for a low, low price. Personally, I'll never sell the R2R2K or the WM1A, 1Z too much Sony for my taste and the 1A to my ears has faster transients.

yeah if i go for a sony dap it'll be the wm1am2, the DSEE ultimate seems to be really catching the attention of the fans

Not a fan of Android based DAPs, be far better served by the OG; regions, CFW. My own WM1A I can change the flavour as I wish, AM2 is a locked down, locked in, locked out product and you pay a penalty price for it...

That I don't do...
