Don't Know, I was excited to hear Hifiman was releasing a new DAP and equally disappointed soon as I found out it was sans display instantly lost interest. Worse, now on two occasions. Hifiman wants my $$$$ the player must have a display and be a standalone product. If not in time, I'll dig deeper and go for a Luxury & Precision R2R DAP.

I know there are other R2R DAP's on the market, but I don't want a mirid of complications. I just want the player to sound amazing out the box. One of the major reasons I ceased with the Sony WM1A/Z custom FW was spending more time fiddling about with settings, analysing the slightest artifact versus simply enjoying the music. I reset my WM1A, switched back to stock 3.02 FW and never looked back. Sounds great across all genres. If I want a different tonality, I just switch the IEM;s and I may flip the region from time to time

no other dap has pcm1704uk tho, which is arguebly one of the best dac chips ever made.

have you thought about sending your wm1a for npaudio mods? also, is wm1a multibit? I'm pretty sure it's delta sigma, I'd probably buy it if I knew it's multibit.

Honestly, the battery is not a big deal to me, with a power bank like @Queen6 is not a bad solution. But if NP can do it, it's really a miracle but I don't think it can because it's a very small music player compared to sony wm1a

r2r2000 max it's still very portable, shorter and narrower than n6ii, pretty sure it'll be thinner too

battery life is about 12-16hours on bluetooth lhdc 24bit 96khz 4.4mm high gain

it arrived! sonically I can't tell if there's an improvement because it's been so long since I've heard stock r2r2k.

but it's been a 2 hour session now and battery hasn't moved a muscle

after using the r2r2k the entire day battery went from 90% mark to half battery mark.

Needless to say it is a keeper, now I'm only wondering about shanling m8's akm implementation and the hm1000 quad wish I had a place around to demo these. Used to wonder about the wm1z too because of the unique S-master, but 250mw@16ohms.. that is pretty disappointing.
