My best-sounding of all my headphones is still the original HE1000 through the EF-6 amp. HE1000… just like the thread title says.

Yet I can imagine the newer ones being even better, yes, Better Than The Best! But I am happy with mine!

Is it still too new to call it old school cool? Beautiful set.

I’m waiting for new HE1000 Stealth to arrive, do they have the inner mesh in the drivers or in the pads? I have some Dekoni pads for my Aryas and would like to know if I can use them on the HEK. Thanks!

Anyone else have issues with one of their drivers being intermittently dead? Headphone works 99% of the time, just every now and then the right driver will not work. It's been able to be fixed by reseating the cables. I did reach out to Hifiman Customer Support, as I've had these cans for three weeks.

I got my stealths new almost two months ago and haven’t experienced this at all. Seems like an issue with your unit, support should sort you out for sure

Check if the 3.5mm connector hits your shoulder or something. It shouldn't happen if the connectors untouched.

Refurb and I did try another cable. It fixed itself, but this is the third time it’s happened. I’m in contact with them currently to get it sorted.

I've had it happen with a few of my hifimans and one of my focals, the cable was the issue both times. The crazy thing is, the cable would work with other hifimans.

Even a Topping dx3+ pro alone will be enough as a dac+amp for the HE1000. It has balanced output, ess sabre chip and amazingly low distortion... for any price .
If you really want to spend more for something that will drive any power hungry headphone....I would get the Topping L70/ E70 stack.
The Toppings are absolutely excellent .

Might be a weird combo! Might be because I own a energizer and electrostatic headphones as well! But I pair my HE 1000 stealth with my EF 400 and Stax SRM D50. And I just love the sound they produce out of that combo. I use the chord mojo 2 if I want a warmer sound signature. But that combo produces very low distortion and realism. Just sounds fantastic to me.

I ordered and received Topping stack A70 Pro and D70 Pro. Sounds already really good with the HEKv2.
The V222 arrived too, but waiting for the Bifrost 2/64, should arrive on Monday.

Is there any recommendation for tube amp, for the HEKv2, something around 1-1.5k€? I would like to test one.

Interested in your impressions of the V222 and Bifrost pairing with the HE-1000 Stealth, as are many others. Any notes to share and what you settled with?
