Super nice to be aware of. Is high gain even necessary? Maybe I should just consider BursonHe1000v2 on v222 have distortion on high gain.
High gain is not necessary but i dun feel like it really open up v2. I using denon speaker amp 80w sound is really open up with depth.Super nice to be aware of. Is high gain even necessary? Maybe I should just consider Burson
Received the HE1000 Stealth yesterday. Spent the next 6 hours enamored with the sound. I am pairing with the A&K SP3000 and Mass Kobo 475. Awesome. The SP3000 alone sounds super because of it's dark background and high level of technicalities. I have a Arctic Cables Fusion cable I am using so I can take advantage of the balanced connection, it is copper and silver.
I am taking some time off work so I am certain over the next week I will log some serious time.

I am curious if anyone bought their HEK refurbished from Hifiman? If so, what has your experience been. Thanks!
I got one about a month ago. The right driver would intermittently not work (think 3 times out of 120 putting them on). It's currently at their warehouse and I'm waiting for a resolution.I am curious if anyone bought their HEK refurbished from Hifiman? If so, what has your experience been. Thanks!

Hmmm not very encouraging, but glad they’re trying to help you out.I got one about a month ago. The right driver would intermittently not work (think 3 times out of 120 putting them on). It's currently at their warehouse and I'm waiting for a resolution.
I'll update you whenever I get it taken care of, but like I said, it only happened rarely. They'd often work after reseating the cable a few times.Hmmm not very encouraging, but glad they’re trying to help you out.

Please do. I’m about to pull the trigger on a pair.I'll update you whenever I get it taken care of, but like I said, it only happened rarely. They'd often work after reseating the cable a few times.
I will say their email support has been great, and you do get a one year warranty with a refurb. If you want a he1000v2 it’s probably better to get a refurb than buying used because used prices are about the same with no warranty. But I will let you knowPlease do. I’m about to pull the trigger on a pair.

Yes—I noticed that about used prices. Are you sure it’s a 1 year warranty or does a 3 year warranty apply because that’s the warranty that came with new HEKV2s?I will say their email support has been great, and you do get a one year warranty with a refurb. This really open V2.
I've just demoed the HE1000 Stealth at the store against my HE1000V2. Surprisingly, I have to say that the V2s are slightly brighter to my ears compared to the Stealths contrary to what everyone is describing. I prefer the bass and mids in the Stealth where they are more forward and I think i will be trading my V2s up to the Stealths. One thing about the Stealths is that the soundstage is indeed smaller as compared to the stealths. Leaning slightly towards the EF400 as compared to the EF600 to pair with the Stealths. The form factor of the EF600 is making it difficult for me to put it behind my computer monitor.

If you are the curious type, try a piece of TP in front of the driver. Tames 4-6k and makes mid timbre slightly more natural (to my ears).
Might be 3 years. It says standard warranty. You also get 6 months for registering the productYes—I noticed that about used prices. Are you sure it’s a 1 year warranty or does a 3 year warranty apply because that’s the warranty that came with new HEKV2s?
