Say Musicman, since Beyerdynamic is making the MPH1000, do they (Beyerdynamic) have a new flagship in the works? Would love to see one without the McIntosh premium added

The MHP1000 may look some like a Beyer headphones but I can tell you they do not sound like a Beyer. I don't know where they are actually built but I bet McIntosh has some proprietary tuning in them.

Beyer does make them, but you are probably correct that they are built to standards established by the Guys at MacIntosh. I can't wait to listen to a pair. Not a big fan of the way my local Mac Dealer demos headphones, but I will pop in for a listen anyway.

I own the MHP1000 and they are currently my absolute favorite headphone.  I also own the T1s and have compared them to the MHP1000. They are voiced differently in my opinion.  The MHP1000 has excellent clarity and impact.  They are a well balanced headphone.  I know the concept of burn-in is controversial, but mine (I have had 2 pairs) changed fairly significantly over time, so don't judge based upon initial listening if you are hearing a new pair.  I have a pair of HE1000 on order and will offer a compare once I receive and burn-in the HE1000 - not exactly sure when that will be, but should be soon.

I am in the market for a top headphone amp. I reckon that since I got the BHSE for SR009, only the best one would do the HE1000 justice. Which of the following amps would be the best for HE1000 (or planar headphones)? I am thinking about Dark Star, Liquid Gold, Balancing Act or Apex Pinnacle. Other suggestions in the same league are also welcome. As much as I love the HE1000, I am still cautious about Chinese made amps - so any WOO products or EF1000 is out of the question.

Allnic hpa-5000, Headamp gsx-mk2, Beta 22, Apex peak/volcano. I will have the peak/volcano with the he-1000 hopefully soon, but those are the amps you should be after imo.

Bakoon!!!!!!!!

dont buy the korean ones, buy the original japanese one,  HDA 5210mk3  ....you can choose between two boards, the red cheap EX board, same as in korean hpa-21 and superior UL board, then you have options normal, metal film resistance or the top option winged resistance

fully pimped out it cost 3000,with no premium options the budget one cost 1800.... the key here is the current mode, its extremly clean, fast, powerfull and I dont know any other amp with lower distortion than bakoon in current mode
