+1. I have upgraded cables for reasons of comfort and length - never for sonics. If you can hear a difference between cables your ears are a lot better than mine.

I have been underwhelmed by the cables that came with my LCD 2.2 and my HD800s.  I was just considering other options if the HE1K disappoints in the cable department.

No, I have the LCD 2.2s.  I just thought the cables were a little "meh."  I got some moon audio silver dragons, and I felt they substantially improved the SQ to me.

You arent doing it right ... expensive cables are best heard through your wallet ... as long as the wallet if is full it sounds totally 'meh'

considering that the HE-1000 has not been officially released, there hasn't been any opportunity for anyone to do any "cable rolling" with them yet. You will need to wait until after the beta testers get their hands on these. I am sure some beta testers like to play with cables. With standard mini-jack connectors, getting alternative cables should be quite easy if that is something you are into. I am personally pretty skeptical of the sonic effect of cables, but ymmv.
