Too bad, I was kind of hoping this would be competitive price-wise with the Audeze's.

Why would they price them around the top of the range Audeze models when (by all accounts) the latter aren't competative in performance?
Though no doubt Audeze are breathing a sigh of relief.

Even if they did trickle down the technology to more affordable models there's no way I'd be able to buy them knowing there is a better model available. That being said there's no way I'd be able to afford the HE-1000 any time in the near future. At $1500 sure, but at $3000 my "savings" would get eaten up by something else before it ever got that high.

Not a fan of the gloss and the grill with its cagelike structure and aesthetics. Undecided if horizontal bars would look better.

Hey now, I demand a consulting fee

Good to see the design team at HFM has similar aesthetics.

For USD2999, I will follow Fang's advice to instead spend money for going live concert and new CDs.

Ha! I'm serious. I'll be getting these as soon as finances permit.

Could these run well on the OPPO HA-1 or would it not be powerful enough?

They said it requires about the same amount of power as the HE-560, and the HA-1 is more than enough power for my HE-560's - so should be fine
