For me Ragnarok and Dacmini is off the list...findings from impression of my 20 mins audition with my HE-6 last weekend during DC meet
Krell beats Rag for its soundstage and bass impact in a big way, also it more 3D then Rag. Maybe I need to spend more time with it for good impression, but with limited time I was not impressed at all.
I was looking for Class D amp, to save desk space (no speakers), but Dacmini sounded very thin and soulless (it may be more a DAC than amp). Next on list are NuPrime IDA-16 and Clonesaudio AP2, I have a deal with local dealer....he is going to lend them for home trail. If result is same as Dacmini, I will never attempt class D again.
Local dealer says "Both of these amps improve on their class D limitations (some dryness on higher frequencies and less rich harmonics), while maintain their core strengths (tremendous control on loudspeaker, strong pace) they will have something interesting to offer"
