One thing's for sure: from a business perspective it's not very wise to replace a $900 item with a $500 item. Personally I'd be very surprised if that's the case.

I wouldn't be surprised if they priced the Sundara at the $500 mark just because of the fact that 560s are currently going for that price. Then they'll replace the 560 model with something even better in the under 1k range. Look at how Sennheiser released the hd660s, its basically a retuned hd700 driver but they undercut the cost to half of the MSRP of the hd700 when that was first released. They are probably setting up whatever new HD820s and maybe rebranding the HD800 as HD7xx. I got crazy ideas in my head. Ignore me.

Though I love my batman ones, I would be annoyed if they told me they were not going to be replaced and then replaced them a few weeks later... though, that's happened to me more than once, so I suppose I should be used to it.

Saying that, considering I prefer my ones with all of there changes more over the LCD 2 and 3 I tried them against, I think I'll keep them even if a new version comes out...

Buying stuff... pretty annoying. Lol.

That's a better price than what I paid for mine. I don't like that it doesn't come with a warranty though.

Yes, it's kinda like self-insurance. A bit scary.

Hello Everyone,

I am considering purchasing the HE560s. I also own a pair of HD700s.
The amps I have are BH Crack OTL and an O2.

Do you think I can enjoy this amp to the fullest extent based on the amps I have? Also, are these too similar in sonic signature to the HD700s?

Final question, should I wait for the Sundara?

I'm really sorry about the barrage of questions, I'd really appreciate some guidance.

Thanks.

I think O2 might not have enough power to drive 560. Even though 560 is much easier to drive than he6, but it is still hard to drive compared to other headphones.

I don't think the HE560 is a "neutral" sounding headphone
Before buying them, I had read that they were neutral, but I agree with you: I hear some artificiality, especially in the treble, which doesn't sound entirely natural to me, with higher volumes bringing out the coloration. IMO the HE560 sounds best at low volume (which is good for your hearing).

It's RELATIVELY neutral, compared to a V shaped can IMO.

I wouldn't in any way call it hyped.

To be clear, it's not that the HE560 sounds bad or harsh when you play it loud. To me, it sounds smooth; it's just that playing at higher volumes enhances the coloration. Whether you will like the HE560 played loud or not depends on whether you like the coloration, whether you find it euphonic. I do, but sometimes I also wish it sounded more natural. I'm glad I purchased this headphone. It was certainly a move in the right direction from the 400i. But I don't think it will be my last headphone. Nevertheless, it does have enough going for it that I certainly don't mind keeping it for at least a few more months before I decide on my next purchase.

But I should try pairing it with another amp, for instance the Polaris, before I finally make up my mind.

What specific coloration are you hearing?

I'll have my set tomorrow. Reading these few post about coloration, do you think the FocusA pads would help with the treble anomalies?
