" Our goal is always giving headfiers the best value with the best sound possible. I don't think anyone can disagree with that."
It's a very bold statement indeed. I do own Lcd2r2 & Lcd3, He5, He6, He 500 but He500 is my favorite.

I am sure you do... It wasn't easy for you guys I absolutely understand that.
But I think as a company that you should definitely be praised for taking feedback, keeping in touch with us and providing one of the best price/performance headphones out there.

+1

It's not whether or not we fall, it's how we get back up. HiFiMan definitely deserves my praise.

Note he said "headfiers", it's not just anyone, but people who specifically frequent this forum, who have their attention. Not sure if it's a Freudian slip or not.

Well, to be fair, I think we're HiFiMAN's main clientele/bread & butter, aren't we?

That's a good question. I could only speculate on the percentage of sales that come from headfi for a company like hifiman. It would certainly be a higher percentage for them than a company like Sennheisher or Beyer.

Just read up on the thread. HE-560 will probably have to wait another year for me with all the changes. Want to go at least 6 months with a steady line.

Now the new electrostats got my attention. I'd love to know what price range the new stat and amp will be in. Are we looking at under $5k rig or more like a SR-009 $10k+?

Sennheiser would definitely be on top, followed by Shure, Philips, and Sony. All of these are sold at Best Buy's and Source. Next bracket would be AKG and Beyers - a bit more exclusive. Audeze and Hifiman are much more exclusive.

We are doing our best to get the new electrostatic out this year. Too early to tell. Actually the headphone is on the right track. What's falling a bit behind is the matching amp. I am telling you It is going to be SICK!!! All right, already said more than I should. Let's get back to HE560. Have been burning it in for two days. It is getting even better. I am happy, and more importantly Fang can finally sleep now. LOL...

  Jade 2 Confirmed?
biggrin.gif

It's been confirmed since CES2014 in January, there are even photos of it on the Internet.

It's also immediately obvious that the redesign of HE560's driver cups did take many cues from the Jade 2 prototype (wood veneer trim, an extra piece where the cable connection is, etc).

Hmm.. I already see some revisions for those.. they need to offset the connectors and the cups are not wide enough probably.

I disagree.

If the headband is the same as the HE560/400is, which seems to be the case, then those Jade II cups are HUGE. As wide as the ortho cups, but much longer.

Don't forget this is a very early prototype they only showed behind closed curtains.

Just to be clear, i'm not here to whine about it. A product cannot be perfect for everyone and i think Hifiman has done a great job for the 560 from what i saw on this thread. I'm thrilled to receive mine!!!
