Moving out of the country in two weeks. Importing anything of import is far too expensive/annoying to even consider, unfortunately.

Wanted a new setup before I left, as I will be limited for the next year or two.

Get the 560, you won't regret the decision. Likely sound fine from your rig (depending on how loud you like material). The 560s are an exceptional sound signature as far as my ear can tell. Even if your rig is currently less than ideal for them, you can move up as finances allow.

I was thinking of getting a pair of he560s, but would my Fiio e7/e9 combo be okay or should I hold off until my budget allows for a new amp/dac combo as well?

Thanks.

I started out with the E17/E09 combo, it sounded very good with the HE560!

I wonder if they'll release a HE560 with the new 2.5 mm Hifiman connector? I'm considering buying HE560 but the old style rca connectors are really lame.

What's "lame" about them? Once they're plugged snugly in, leave them alone and enjoy the tunes.
Can't figure out what the fuss is about with the earcup connectors. They're fine in my book.

Same here...aside from the hassle of them being proprietary (which applies to so many high end cans), I've never had a problem with them.

Don't hold your breath for that change, and, as noted, don't let the connectors stop you from trying these amazing cans.

It's all subjective, so personally, I would recommend you try to audition a pair and hear it yourself.
If you already have a 500, thumbs up. For me, 560 sounds relatively neutral and quite transparent. I enjoy it a lot.
(It replaced my beloved LCD-2.2 prefaz, sold already).

cheers

I kept my 560 as a compliment to my HD800s, it has an organic, whole sound that a planar a can deliver.

I have the HD650, does the he 560 have an organic sound more in its direction?

I love them both. 560 is crystal-clear, 650 is enticingly rich.
560 is champagne. 650 is shiraz.
Both are fantastic. You won't go wrong.
(Q: Why own two HPs that are very similar in sound profile?)
