How would you compare the 4XX and 560V2 as far as sound goes?

I've kinda decided to just let these go, and cancel them. Save my money and get a 4XX.
I got my he560 v2 yday and already own he4xx with zmf ori pads.

The shorter headband is first a problem for me. Its too cramped to begin with. He4xx felt comfy to me when compared to the other.

I might try to get ether c angled pads which are thin and see how they fit and feel on he560. Otherwise, i would probably return them..

Now i realize the price performance ratio on he4xx. Its really well built.

Second this, I will return V2. HE4xx is comfier and sound/cost is much better.

I hope the V2 is not like the other Adorama deal fiasco I read about.
I bought a pair last time too . I guess the old saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me " applies here. I am starting to learn, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is !

now im bummed lol. i was hoping for an actual 560 since i baby the crap out of my older set due to the arms being plastic and having to replace them already. figured these would be more durable when i wanted to actually you know, use them lol

he said if you were to mix the sundarda and the 400i together you would kind of get what these sound like. that was his only response.
Interesting. I wish we had measurements. I went ahead and cancelled though. Headband problems are unacceptable at this level. Superlux headphones with new pads are comfy with the suspension strap. This shouldn't happen on friggin' Hifiman cans.

Also, the V2 pad is less comfy that V1. The V2 pad is like the pad from HE4xx.

I think that's just the extra clamping on the v2's because the pads are the exact same, at least on mine.

That might be a good description. I'll throw on my 400i/400s/4XX/Sundara tomorrow and see where the V2's land among them.

I was expecting that you would say that they sound much like the HE 500 because the cups do exactly look like those.

If only we'd be so lucky. Love me some HE-500's.

I'd say this is good call. Especially if you get some better pads for the HE-4XX

Dang, I ordered a pair of the V2's myself hoping the sound signature would match the V1's. From the impressions in this thread so far regarding the V2's it sounds like it's a brand new headphone and doesn't retain any of the sound qualities of the original. That's so disappointing :unamused:

I’ve never heard a 560 before but I can’t imagine this version being so dramatically different.

I am confused about the headband criticism - does it slide up and down on the inside arc and there is little movement or is the surface area of the headband itself small?

Those were my initial thoughts as well. I would like to think that the V2 is more of a cosmetic change. But the way the sound is being described is a bit confusing to say the least. In the description there’s no mention of a driver change but head-fiers are reporting a change in the sound. I need to hear them for myself. I had the original HE-560’s and I’m hoping these have that sound.
