Venus audio on Ebay makes pretty cheap (I'll say around $46~60) cable. I didn't like the design (plain simple, no braiding) but build on their cable is very good.

you can customize the length and termination of the cable.

+1
I have gotten cables from Venus audio, good prices and pretty good cables.

I received my HE-560s today, and while it's way too early to comment on whether I like its sound, I can say one thing: I. DO. NOT. LIKE. THIS. CABLE. I didn't like the HE-400i's cable either, but this one is rediculous. It's not as bad as the Fostex TH-Series cables, but it's pretty bad.

I'll need to find a more flexible replacelment with a 3.5mm termination. I've read that cables for the Sennheiser HD700 will also work.

I'm not handy in the least, so any suggestions are welcome. So, no, I don't want to solder anything.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I can also comment on Venus Audio's cables build and quality. He is a very cool guy to work with and will basically do whatever you need for your cable if he has it or has the ability to get it. Just have to ask him via message via ebay. I had a after market Sennheiser cable made for my HD600's and I really liked it.

Another great option is PETEREK who is right here in the forums all the time. He has done some cable work for me and uses very nice, quite flexible cable. It comes without a sleeve, and some like the braided cable look, but he tells me if you want a sleeve they are inexpensive to put on if he is asked to do so. That is a great option for sure, as is Norne Audio, but that will be based on my experience slower and more expensive, but his cables are also very nice. For quick turn around time, quality and service, in my experience PETEREK is rocking the house.

So is it confirmed that the HD700 cable is compatible with HFM's 2.5mm connectors?
I ask becuase the connectors look different [TRS vs TS].
Thanks!

Yes, I can perfectly use the HD700 cable on the HE1000 (which shares the same connection type as the newer HE-560's) and vice versa.

There is one reason you might not want to use the HD-700 connectors, the HD-700 connectors have a flat key area that will cause them to stick out a little more than normal 2.5mm connectors and they are also double the price from what I’ve been able to find so far.

My balanced cables I had made for my Oppo PM-2 also fit the HE-560 perfectly well. They also stick out a bit more but it's pretty ok.

Cheers.

A DAC signature like that must go a long way to deal with the 4khz energy that bothers some people. I suspect the synergy would be quite good. Was it a little too rolled off with a tube amp in the chain as well?
Just saw this. No not at all, there may be a roll in the highest of frequencies but the for the most part quite good.

I'd invite you to the mhdt labs tour I'd set up but due to possible taxes and logistics, it's not going to Canada. (Tour info on my sig)

No worries, yes that would have been a great tour to participate in, but I understand the logistics don't fit for Canada. Shame, but what can you do right? Cheers.

Hi guys, I'm new to the Head-Fi Forum and wanted to know, whether this is the right place to ask for a new DAC + Amp combination?

What could you generally recommend for my HE-560? I was looking for a Schiit Lyr 2 + Magni 2. What do you guys think?

I thought I'd spend about 600 USD but am willing to pay more if there are products that cost more with a better value for money.

Thank you in advance :)
