What's the link?? The LD 1+ is tempting at $150, keep some chips in my pocket!! I just don't want to cheat myself to save $150 since I found a EF-5 for $310 full warranty, The EF-5 seems like a safe buy that you can get without questioning what another amp could sound like under $750.

The Emotiva Mini-x A-100 is a good choice as long as you're willing to get a speaker tap adapter. I just got one today that I'm using with my HE-400.

Pricing is $325 on the website i think and $340 on ebay. Shipping within USA is $20-30 extra. I have it as well but with a HD 650 and not with a HD 500.

Tell us more? How's the tube sound or does it have more of a solid state flavor?

It is a hybrid. I haven't tried a full tube amp. It does add tube lushness and richness while retaining a clean signal.

Changing tubes helps quite a bit.

Check out the QINPU A6000 MK 2.Sounds cleaner and warmer than the EMOTIVA A100 to my ears.Drives HE-6 easily from speaker taps.Also comes with headphone jack.
 
It has recieved several solid reviews.

  cant believe no one has suggested the EF-5. they pair beautifully and its only $400. I like it better than my lyr. 

I'm considering these two also can you give more comparisons between them???
