Well you just threw a wrench in my plans! :). The output power on that thing seems crazy compared to the DF Black. Am I missing something here? From what I see it's Fulla2's 360mW RMS per channel vs 150mw for the DF Black.

You realize that's only a difference of ~3.5dB, right? Every time you double the power you only gain 3dB of increased headroom. Now, if you're constantly maxing out your current amp, 3dB of headroom is a godsend. But for most people the 3dB of head room will be by far the least important difference between this and the Dragonfly series.

I do expect the Fulla2 will be better than the Dragonfly series, but it will likely have little/nothing to do with raw power output.

Give the Micca Origen+ a look. Big and heavy compared to E10K or Dragonfly, and driver install is a bit wonky, but it's got some terrific advantages: 1/4" as well as 3.5mm jack; optical in and 3.5mm line out; gain switch on front; toggle to switch between headphones and line out; biggish volume pot on top. These advantages make it wonderfully convenient to use. I got mine open box for $44.

The Dragonfly products are great, especially the red at 2x your budget, but think hard about whether you want a dac/amp without volume adjust. Me, that's a deal breaker. E10K is fine and I love the size, but I do not love the tiny volume wheel and the 1/8" jack.

I believe the Sennheiser HD700 use the same connectors.

I had a weird issue using the HD700 connectors, it worked, but sound was more dominant in one side of my cans. A switch to mono 2.5mm plugs solved this.

I believe the Sennheiser HD700 use the same connectors.

The new version use the same size, 2.5mm the old version were SMC connectors.  The 2.5mm connectors do not have the locking notch on the plug like the HD700's.  The narrow 2.5mm plugs work fine.  The fat 2.5mm will not fit in the cable connection hole on the HD700.

I swap cables all of the time...

Interesting. This thread seems to show some people with success using HD700 cable:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/806283/hifiman-he-400i-cable-replacement

The HD-700 cable will work on the new HE-400i with the 2.5mm connectors but not all HE-400i 2.5mm cables will work on the HD-700.  Take a look at pictures in this thread to see the difference in the implementation of the 2.5mm connectors between the HD-700 and HE-400i.  This is what @MWSVette is saying above.

It works, but I had issues with a cable.. just saying. I now stick to mono connectors when making cables for the 400i.
