I'm currently listening to Rush's Chronicles and honestly I don't remember the last time that I have been blown away like that by a pair of headphones.

I have compared my 400i's with the original 400's yesterday and for my tastes it's almost like comparing 2 different pairs of headphones...(Sorry but I really don't like the 400's)

I also had the Alpha Dog in the past and I slightly prefer the 400i for my music.  (Prog-Metal)

I cannot say anything bad about the Alpha Dog and I still believe that they are one of the best closed headphones on the market but the electric guitars sounds a bit more exciting with the 400i.

Could you please compare Grado 225e and HE 400i (overall and also which one handles electric guitar better in your opinion) in few words ?

im still new to the 400i.. im going to go back and forth with the 400 to find the missing mids you are talking about.

Going back and forth myself, the difference is huge to me. So much so that I feel like the HE-400 is unlistenable now.
