Anybody knows if 400i as same magnet and drivers as 560... weight seem to match..

Certainly no. Different efficiency and frequency response.

560 is 90db versus 400i is 92.5db..

seems to be the same driver to me.. the tuning of the 560 could be what cost it 2.5db

20g more for the wood on the 560

---
anybody posted the responses of 400i yet.. maybe digital EQ before the headphone could be interesting to flatten the Freq response.. and have a champ at low price..

the oppo pm-1|pm-2 look awesome, cant wait to see the comparison between those..

Uh, maybe if the driver is tensioned differently... which would make it sound wildly different.

Hifiman so far always used different drivers for every and each of their cans... There's still the FR difference.

It seems the tracer pattern on 560 is pretty similar to 500, though? I cant help thinking that they must be able to optimise it quite a lot, though it'd most likely require lower tolerances and be more expensive to manufacture..

By the way, why do they use aluminium over copper? For efficiency, it'd make more sense to use copper as it has lower resistance. I can imagine copper is harder to work with but still...

Hey, Fang.

How about jumping on the Graphene ship early and becoming the industry leader with this material. Looks right up your alley.

This sounds promising for a future generation of headphones.

  Hi,
We are very excited to let you know that HE-560 is ready for pre-order.

Order it now, and get a travel case for free.

Do you have any information as to what the cable will be like that ships with it? I don't see it in any of the pictures posted. (really hoping it isn't the stiff/silver cable that shipped with the HE-500)

Any word on when the earpads will be available for order?  And price?

Thanks
