Looks like a temporary sale to me. Otherwise Hifiman wouldn't be doing a line-through the original price with a red price next to it.

Recently got the HE 400 and Vali. Looking for a dac now in that same price range. I'm assuming to just go with the Modi unless anyone has any other suggestions to look into.
Thought I would share my little headband mod. I was never quite happy with the thin padding in the headband. I used the Beyerdynamic pad for a while but it just looked so clunky since only the outside buttons could snap. This was my quick and easy $3 solution. There are various sizes/thicknesses at the hardware store to choose from.
Props to Justin for making the instant price change. Don't understand how you can do it instantly without taking a loss, but we all appreciate the instant gratification nonetheless.

Would you say that it can sound just as loud as a desktop amp?
I never owned a headphone amp (portable or not) and knowing that my laptop puts out a really weak signal I just want to be sure I won't have this issue with it, because I was unable to find out what is its maximum output power at 32Ohms.
The HE400 is a resonably easy to amp headphone right? I bought an Aune T1 w/ a 6922 tube from a user here last week - i believe the Aune outputs 1W for 32ohms?
im hoping it will be a noticable difference (hoping for bass to hit a bit harder) than with my current cheapo USB DAC http://www.vantecusa.com/en/product/view_detail/439

Here's a little more belonging, although once it's on it really doesn't matter but for the sake of looks while it's on a stand the Senn pads are nice:
