  they can look purple-ish to blue-ish to grey-ish to black depending on how type of light in the room and how the camera catches the reflection. similar finish as the he-400i, which can look to be various colors depending on the lighting. definitely black though.

The HE-6 has the same reflective quality in photos, but in person it is indeed clearly piano black.

AFAIK, The HEX uses a smaller, less complex driver than the HEK. Which is why it will be significantly cheaper

^^ They are still prototypes but the driver design seems very similar from early reports. There are some detailed notes in the meet thread. Seems very easy to amp even from a smart phone.
