How about buying a new can with a 3-5 years warranty with new materials inside and enjoy it ?Of course it is.
If a 900$ can fails tomorrow it's worth 900$ - price to repair it. Only if the parts are not longer manifactured and no other third party service can replicate them you have a problem.
To each his/her cup of tea but since I work in the electronic and IT field I have lots of reasons not to buy but new. And if anyone have a tendency to buy used stock, get NOS tubes but they tend to get more expensive the older they are
