Anyone know if the stock pads are vegan? The Sundara clearly are pleather, but ananda texture is different. Seems like real leather, which is a deal breaker for me. If they are real leather, any recs on improved pads that are vegan friendly?

Never saw a Hifiman with real leather pads , so I bet those are pleather.

Yes 100% pleather Pads Ananda.

I'm sure this is a common theme, but I can't determine if I prefer the Ananda or the Sundara more. The Sundara clearly has superior treble, but the Ananda is wider with bigger bass. Anyone experiment with different pads for the Ananda or Sundara to make the sound a bit better? I think the cloth pads with the Cascade improve them. Wondering is something similar would work with Ananda or Sundara.

That’s not my experience demoing both with classical orchestral music. i found Ananada’s treble slightly finer and less off timbre than Sundara’s,
