Hidizs AP60II - youngest in HiRes family but worth every cent

Maybe overcome with mails?

Nope. After helping them out (they approached me for some help with the understanding that it would be in exchange for an AP200 review unit), it's pretty hard to think that they'd simply "forget" about me. They continue to use my work to this very day, but have failed to live up to our agreement.

Their English is fine. I could show you a couple of emails between them and myself. They're just terrible at sticking to their word. A lack of integrity, really.
That's just crapty. Your story really is about the true character of this company. Makes me regret buying the Pro and DH1000. As a freelance photographer, I know how important it is to get paid for the work that you agreed to do for that trade. I say Boo. I hope they do come through with the compensation that was promised.

Yeah, it's a real shame, especially considering that I did more than they had initially asked. I just wish they at least had the decency to stop using my work if they still have no intention to honour our agreement.

In this case I'd say Massdrop is not communicating. Regardless of Hidizs, Massdrop made the special order and we're buying the AP60 Pro from them. Hope its still on schedule.

But your are correct that Hidizs does not seem to communicate much. Could be a language issue, or they don't have a PR Specialist on their staff?

Yeah, they probably don't. They briefly surfaced in the Massdrop discussion thread, but then disappeared again. Since this was my first time buying on Massdrop, it wasn't clear to me who I was actually buying from. Thanks for the clarification.

Sorry to hear that :frowning2:

I'm in two minds to flip my fiio x1II and get the AP60II. I know that's its down on power, but will that affect my listening as I use VE monk ear buds to work, and AGK Y30's and superlux hd668's at home. How is the Bluetooth connectivity with the ap60II, as this is one of the reasons I might change, as the X1 keeps dropping out?

Depending on your budget, the BT on the Shanling M2s is great and it's also got more power than the X1ii. If $200 is out of your budget, wait a little longer for Shanling's new M0. Super tiny, got a touch screen, and a little more power than the X1ii too.

Has there been a recent update/notification? Or are you going by the May 7 in the original Massdrop Listing?
Was looking at my transaction page on Massdrop. Maybe I didn't notice it before. Hopefully in ten days we receive it is the US.

Well, we're not seeing the AP60 Pro this week, Massdrop just sent this: "Due to an unexpected delay, these orders may ship later than the original estimated ship date. Our apologies for any inconvenience. If we find that the drop is going to be delayed by more than 30 days, we will let you know."

Thanks SF Darn was about to check if they shipped. Wonder what the real deal is? Maybe not enough inventory?

I don't think that Hidizs sold too many of the Massdrop AP60 Pro. Does anyone remember how many units were sold? In any case, I suspected that this would happen. AP60 Pro is not on their website as an upcoming product but they just released a promo for the AP80 AND are supposedly fulfilling the Kickstarter for their DH1000 DAC/Amp this month too. That's 3 products launching in a such a short period of time. I just don't understand why they would go to Massdrop (which is pretty popular, well known, and watched by many) and not make sure to fulfill that order. Marketing wise, it's not a very good look to default on orders without communicating clearly with that community (which they haven't). Somebody over there needs to get on the ball...

Thanks glad to hear the pro is shipping soon. I never got a reply from massdrop.

I noticed this in another review, but Massdrop stuff is usually handled by massdrop directly, this is why some people haven't gotten answers, but that is Massdrop's doing.
Your defense of the company for not responding on Massdrop is completely inaccurate. It's a joint venture. You would like to just blame Massdrop, but it's Hidizs' AP60 Pro PRODUCT LAUNCH. They are active on those comment boards with their OWN official Hidizs account (with their logo and everything) when they choose to be. They even responded several times to questions before the launch ended.
I'm satisfied with the answer that they provided, that they would start sending out the units next week.
