I started to rediscover my rarely used AKG K812Pro.
The reason of not using it was lack of bass and tendence to ear piercing upper mids and highs.
With RS8 bass reappeared in pleasing amount and quality. Sharpness comes only ocassionaly. I am very positively surprised.

friends, I noticed that on the new firmware, any entry in 44.1 from Qobuz and other services plays in 48.

I highlighted this in the screenshots. tell me what it is about?

on older firmware, the entry in 44.1 played in 44.1, and now what is below 48 plays in 48, not in 44.1.

upsampling is not good.

sorry for my english, i use google translate

You are right!
Haven’t realized that yet.
UApp is playing fine though but they have developed an own driver anyway..
Will now check Tidal and Apple Music

New software, new bugs. Thanks for pinpointing and for the music suggestion.

Anybody gets the Netflix app working on the RS8 (with FM 1.11_20230308-1740)?
Neither Google Play version ("This app won't work for your device") nor the (successfully installed) APK directly from Netflix ("This device is not supported by the app") don't work for me.

Amazon Music/Video, TIDAL and YT app are all working fine.

@Joe Bloggs could you please confirm that the sampling issue is addressed with development?
Though I doubt it will make an audible difference I am watching myself playing Apple Music almost exclusively as there's still the unconscious feeling something is not right with playing flacs on RS8 with current firmware

Hi, it was a point of correction with the dev team. Are the displays not correct now? We never fake them.

Hi Joe
What does that mean?
Are you saying the sampling rates are correct but only wrongly displayed playing flacs in Redbook format?
UApp sample rates are displayed correctly, as well as Apple Alac.
For me it doesn't look like a display issue but a bug with not overriding Android standard resampling...
Cheers

I see, so the displays (as well the actual rates) are still not correct?

What's the date of the firmware you're on and the apps it's not correct on right now?

Fw is 1.11_20230308-1740
Apps with issues tested so far are Tidal native apk, Qobuz.
Apps without issues are Apple Music and UApp
