An R2R dap is the only thing I would consider upgrading to from the R6 Pro. But it would have to have the Android and streaming features of the R6 Pro, not the basic 1990s-like text interface of the Hifiman R2R2000.u r a tube lover no doubt, maybe also hiby will surprise us with an r2r dap

I'm not very optimistic about the 4G because celluar network will almost certainly cause interference issues.
Keep bothWaiting more info... maybe I’ll change my R5 with R8
When I listen to music from my phone, I don't hear any interference.I'm not very optimistic about the 4G because celluar network will almost certainly cause interference issues.
Looks good, but also THICCC
Sounds like my wife
Does anyone have an idea when HiBy intends to launch the R8, or at least provide us with specs? It's been showcased at various shows for the past few months but aside from AK4499 DACs and 4G support we know very little about the internals, or when we can actually expect to buy it.

I think it's using the AK4497 from some Weibo reports.

"HiBy R8 will be running latest Android 9.0 and it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. This is the highest performing processor chip used on a DAP so far in history."
Is that still true or does the Fiio M15 match or surpass it?
I don't like the look of the headphone sockets on the opposite end from the volume knob.
In a pocket vertically - Either you keep it upright in a jacket pocket - to access the volume - which means the unit will rest on a "bent cable' near the jack or you store the unit in your pocket upside down to allow a straight, unbent cable and have an awkward time getting to the volume knob at the very bottom of your pocket.
Horizontally in a large pocket it won't matter I suppose. Thoughts?

The Exynos chip is powerful but the Qualcomm offers full Android functionality - IE Google Play for things like Apple Music.

Perhaps Qobuz and Amazon Music will work well on it?
