How's the soundstage width and depth compared to LPGT and SP2000 (and R8 by memory)? Also, how's the noise floor compared to the top-tier DAPs?
Just receive it today.
Sound is great and very balance, it seems friendly with IEMs more than R8. Nicely done again Hiby team!

Well, then let me at least share pictures here. Apparently, I missed R6 2020 thread and posted pictures in R8 thread lol!!!
Btw, @gLer, can you please update the title of the thread to include R6 2020? I was chatting with Hiby, and they realized that people who will search for "new R6" will get links to the original old R6 version So, for me personally, I will refer to New R6 as New R6 2020, so at least we can distinguish between the new and the old.
Oh, and one more thing, this is a topic carried over from a heated R8 discussion and Amazon Music HD playback. Yes, there is a discrepancy with both R8 and R6 2020 and Amazon streaming, has to do with how Amazon app recognizes these daps and downsamples ultra HD 24bit/192kHz down to 24bit/48kHz (in R8) and 16bit/44.11kHz (in R6 '20). Hiby sw team is working with Amazon and in the next or the follow up fw update they will have a fix to be able to support full ultra HD without Amazon downsampling anything. Finally!!!
Ok, and here are a handful of R8 vs R6 2020 side-by-side pictures!

... and the "money shot". This is AnTuTu 3D benchmark score, both R8 and R6 2020 scored nearly the same, as expected due to Snapdragon 660 SoC. For the reference, the next fastest DAP, is fiiO M15 with 108450 score, Thus, R8/R6'20 still hold the title of the fastest Android DAP.

@twister6 thanks for the update. Thread title updated as requested, and made consistent with the R8 thread title.
Survived ...
In the audio device thread, first of all, publish the result of the CPU and GPU performance test.
This is the end!
ps the sound was not delivered?

I'm glad you survived the.... Matrix, according to your location But this is not the end, though depends on which pill you took
But seriously, let me keep it on burn in for a few days, it literally just arrived and there is no reason to mislead people with impressions straight out of the box. Performance and objective 3D benchmark score is the only thing makes sense sharing now, bud!
And performance scores are very important if you're buying an Android DAP. They are to me at least. Makes a huge difference when it comes to usability, UI smoothness and the ability to run modern apps.I'm glad you survived the.... True. I did not want an Android dap, because of the UI performance, but the Hiby R8 changed that for me.

Maybe i get mine just in time for @twister6 impressions,
Exciting times ahead

@twister6 We all live in a matrix, only some admit it, while others try to ignore it. I agree that performance tests are important for android devices. This is the reason why I abandoned ibasso devices. But everyone is waiting for a sound assessment in R6

Just a few quick impressions. First of all, pitch black background from 4.4mm output at high gain. I have R8 in turbo/HG vs R6'20 in HG, using EE Odin, playing my Agnes Obel "The Curse" test track where you can spot hissing easily in the first 30second, and R6 '20 is dead quiet. The R6 Pro SS bal output is noisy with sensitive iems, but R6 '20 is not. So, that's a good sign.
In terms of tonality, R8 is still warmer and more natural relative to R6 '20 which has a more neutral/revealing tonality, nearly identical to R6 Pro SS. But just because R6 '20 and R6 Pro SS share the same tonality, R6 '20 technical performance definitely shows improvement, such as wider soundstage expansion (relative to Odin from 4.4mm bal output at HG), better imaging, also seems like better layering between sounds, with more air between layers.

Sorry, another brain fart, edited post above, meant to write R6 Pro SS, not OG R6 way too many daps....
Glad to see the new R6 has a quiet background with sensitive iems on high gain. It was one of my very few complaints about the R8, I think I’ll end up grabbing an R6 at some point. The size looks great too.
