I ordered one too..I have the original R6 which I mainly use with iem’s..I also have an ibasso DX160 for my night listening..the battery life is horrid though esp when using wifi. I’m wondering when these will actually ship as I don’t think musicteck will get these possible until the end of December..

I also just noticed that Hiby just posted a firmware update for this according to their Facebook as well

Yes, and one of the added features, the same one as in recent R8 update, is being able to flip the screen 180deg so you can plug in headphones from the top. Actually quite useful when listening to DAP in your lap :D

May you compare R6 2020 to the DX160? Is there an audible difference between them or are they quite on par?

May you compare R6 2020 to Shanling M6 Pro and AK Khan Alpha? How does the battery perform in it and is it slightly raised in the bass?

If I remember when I get home from work, will check it out. But keep in mind, DX160 2020 version is a brighter tuned DAP.

Don't have either.

Own an R6Pro and really enjoy it with my FIIO FH7 iems via pentaconn. A helluva lot more engaging sound IMO than equivalent FIIO products. Am very interested in the R8. Maybe a good single source for my FH7s and Audeze LCD-XC. The LCD-x currently run off a Woo Wa11 via balanced.

Some reviewers compared R5 to DX160, cause are similar, new R6 would be better

New R6 is in an interesting price bracket above most of the mid-tier DAPs, but still well below the high end.

Astell&Kern SR25, SA700, KANN ALPHA
Shanling M6 Pro
FiiO M11 Pro and M11 Pro Stainless Steel
iBasso DX220
Sony ZX-507

All those have streaming and are the closest competitors from a price point standpoint (+/- $200USD more or less).
