HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread

I guess for me the tidal issue or non issue is crucial. It is all I will use the DAP with. I will download the albums from tidal as I do to my iPhone.
How much internal storage is left on the M300 after all of the apps and google play are on the device , an approximate figure would be helpful
I can only estimate zero, given that my M300 shows that 32 of 32gb of internal memory is already being used by my 16 apps, including the 6-or-so pre-installed ones. My 280-or-so gb of mostly-FLAC music files are all loaded on my installed 512gb microSD card. I can understand you only knowing or wanting internal storage use as an iphone user, but/so this device probably is not for you and I don't know of DAPs that have more than 32gb, especially at this price, and this is much more internal memory than the HiBy R3 and R5 devices I've owned. BTW, I do use Amazon Music on the M300, but I don't tend to download much music at all. In any event, I do require and use SD-card storage on all my portable devices and would download there as necessary -unless it was not allowed . Good luck finding a Tidal-optimal device, and enjoy your eventual selection.

--- P.S., Newcastle is one of my favorite two beers and I'm always negotiating for sufficient storage space.

No I am prepared to use an SD card if I need to, that’s why I asked the question. So I now know that if I go for this DAP I will definitely need an SD card.
I am assuming you mean Newcastle Brown Ale, used to love it but it made me a bit mad so stopped the consumption 😀

I recently factory reset my M300, so I can provide an estimate.

For extra stuff, I installed an app called MediaMonkey and Gboard, and according to the settings page, I have 21GB free in internal storage (ergo, 11GB used).

Out of curiosity, what apps do you have installed on the M300? Is the DAP used for stuff beyond just listening to music?

Excellent, thank you.

That's the one. I've been ok for 20 years or so, but I average ~1/week. :fingers_crossed:

First pic here!

All were installed the first day or so to fully test the device, especially the android advantage over my R3; that has meant mostly Amazon Music and wi-fi operation, and a little "how-does-it-browse?". The launcher Square Home was mostly installed to replicate the look and feel of what I have on my phone. I can do without several for sure, but I had no idea -was surprised- how much space was being occupied since I got no alert nor did I experience any lag or any other indication -that I noticed. Some will go for sure, but this is what is taking ~32gb --and that is per Settings --> Storage which reads "99% used".

I have no pics or other files purposely installed. I'd have to check more closely, including system and app settings, but it may be that album art and/or other files are going to Blue's internal storage.

I listen to music almost exclusively, and mostly my own collection, streaming through Amazon Music App only, maybe 10-20% of the on time, and maybe occasionally browsing to check X on an artist or track, though I'm likely to have another device handy for that. It does everything that I've tried fine, fully satisfactorily for my needs, though not all features of the launcher work for sure; so I also recognize it is a very nice DAP --not a phone- nor tablet-like device-- which is what I want and paid for.

This morning hiby player started acting very strange. Everything sounds off, everything is wrong. EQ, Mseb and other things are turned off. Instead of clean cymbals i hear chaotic mess, but it was ok before. At first i thought my iems are broke, but when i tried it with dac on my phone - everything was ok. Then i tried spotify - everything was ok too.
