  X3K all the way.

Other options are solid, but this gives the best price/performance ratio, you can use x3K on the go, it charges while being used for desktop, it has a microsd slot, it has a great UI, and you can change the UI.

About headphones, i would try them if i were you. Some headphones are amazing, depending on tastes. I would also consider sennheiser hd380pro, they fit your tastes even better.

Alright, got it! I'll also taka a look at those Sennheiser, I see they're sold at 110€ here, which might be a good option between HD449 and DT 770 Pro.
Now I'll take some time to gathee some money and then I'll make the final decision, but I want to really thank all of you guys for your help and patience! It was really appreciated, thanks a lot guys!

Today I went to a hifi store and listened to a couple of headphones. I was actually surprised that I liked the PSB M4U 2. Have not read about them before. The mids could have been slightly more recessed though...  I think there was too many headphones at a time to write any proper summary, but I put some impressions here (not sure if they make sense):

Think I have to check out the NAD HP50 also. I`m also open for more suggestion.

Did someone mention me? =D

Back to dynamics, I've also heard the Focal Spirit Pro punches really hard, has good isolation, little-to-no amping needs and sounds good with metal. I haven't heard them personally, but I know Music Alchemist is pretty into them... so you could ask him.

Yeah, I love the Focal Spirit Professional, but for most people, there are going to be comfort issues due to the size of the ear pads. Even though they totally surround my ears, it's still a somewhat tight fit, so for some people, they would be on-ear, not over-ear. There are also build quality problems that some people encounter. Aside from that, the sound is pretty nice -- very close to neutral, but still a little too dark to be perfectly neutral, which is the main reason I'm selling my second pair.

I loved the NAD in demo. If I could justify it right now I'd pick up a pair. Worth a demo for sure!

Hey, Pokemon trainer. Have you seen that the Oppo PM-3 pushed the Focal Spirit Professional down from the wall of fame at InnerFidelity (Review from 15 may)?
"The overall sound quality of the PM-3 is very good indeed. In fact, it may be the most neutral sounding headphone I've experienced."

Have you seen that the OPPO PM-3 is not even listed on the actual wall of fame link?

I'm sure he'll get around to updating it. hehe. If it's more neutral than not only the Focal Spirit Professional, but also the Sennheiser HD 800 and STAX SR-009, then I'm even more interested. The PM-3 is already on my wish list, along with the PM-1...but there's no way its sound quality is going to surpass those flagships, even if its tonal balance does.

Innerfidelity does not have ie800 on the wall of fame for IEMs... i wonder why?

They are great iems.

He doesn't seem to really, uh, specialize in IEMs. I don't even use IEMs, yet I can list a dozen great high-end models off the top of my head that are not on his wall of fame. It's just one website, after all.

I wonder what would be your reaction to ultrasone headphones... given the headphones you tried these past few days, i wonder if you would be happier.

I'm assuming you are talking to me. (Though it would help if you made that clear by quoting or tagging people.)

The Edition 5, Signature PRO, and Edition 8 Julia are on my wish list, mainly out of curiosity, and the last one is mainly there because it's pink. lol. However, I am an audiophile and want accurate headphones above all else. I don't plan on buying Ultrasone headphones until I have the best flagships in my possession. According to everything I've read, Ultrasone doesn't even begin to compete with them in terms of sound quality, and they don't seem to be going after a balanced frequency response in the first place. Someone told me the Edition 5 doesn't even sound better than headphones in the $700 range.

My favorite review of ultrasone

lol, yeah, that's not exactly their best model.

@Music Alchemist

I will be user-tagging you for now then.

Well, edition 5 and edition 8 are not the best examples of ultrasones.

I would rather recommend you to try ultrasone signature pro or ultrasone pro900, they are much closer to linear, and in my view, better value for money.

Still, trying to buy linear would mean that  you should not take ultrasones, but maybe S-logic works with your ears. For a reason, with my ears it works very well.
