Headphone Sightings 2
Oct 24, 2012 at 11:26 AM Post #7,591 of 12,415
Well, not exactly a "headphone" sighting, but someone in one of my classes was helping me with some work, and someone sits down talking about how he has thousands of songs on his 16gb iphone, I continue to wonder to myself how low quality the files are and how I have flac files so I can't have too many on my phone. After this, the guy helping me with work was like "err, my whole collection is in flac too?". Then comes the "DO YOU GO ON HEAD-FI" and he does. Pretty cool!

I think we've all had our eye fill of these. At least SKDY developed the Aviators, they aren't a total disappointment :p

This probably shouldn't count but I saw a kid wearing a super colorful tee shirt with akg k701s on them.  I was going to say something but I figured since he was using crappy iBuds he probably didn't even know what company made them.

I've seen at least 3 pairs of Grado at my campus already, a SR325is and 2 SR80/125. Don't really understand why someone would take them outside when they are open and leak sound so badly.

That being said the only Grado that has impressed me is the RS1i...warm and smooth, even RS2i can't touch that. The SR line are a pain to deal with, physically and acoustically with their shallow pads and treble spikes :frowning2:

For the sake of some situational awareness maybe?

Saw a guy coming off the Big Blue Bus in West L.A. with a pair of Beats Executives on.  I was with a friend who isn't a Head-Fier - but has heard Beats and detests them.  He asked me what kind of cans those were and how much they cost.  I told him, and he facepalmed.

again, you dont necessarily have to be in dead-silence to listen and enjoy with Grado's even though they may leak/let in sound

and RS1i's... oh thats definitely on my list when i reach enough funds

I couldn't careless about that since I bring my HE-500, AKG701 and ATH AD2000 outside anytime.
