Last thursday on the buss (#31) on my way home from work - a guy wearing Audio Technica W1000s!

I would not be surprised if the guy is a HeadFi member!

In one of the computer labs at my college I saw a guy wearing either HD 580s or HD 6X0s. He was pretty far away. I had my ATH A700s on me at the time and I would have complimented him if I didn't have to leave.

That's the only time I've seen nice cans here.

I saw 2, yes that's right people TWO people wearing HD25s in the same day
It's rare to see any good headphones in melbourne, most of them are bad dj headphones or ibuds, so this was a big surprise

Now that I've started attending a recording engineering school, I've seen 2 people with old-model Beyer DT770's. One of my classmates even pointed them out, saying he wanted to upgrade from his Sony V150's to "those ones with the silver pads" because they have "subwoofers in them or some s*** like that". I promptly talked him out of them by explaining that they would be very difficult to drive out of his lame CD player.

Today, I saw a third person with DT770's. A girl with DT770's. An attractive girl with DT770's. An attractive girl that I have a class with, with DT770's. There really is a God.

Tomorrow I'll bring mine to school too, for an easy pick-up line. "Hey, nice headphones, I'm wearing the same ones, they sound good don't they, yeah good bass extension, will you marry me?"

Was sitting in the Engineering building lounge today, jamming with my super.fi 5 pros and I had 2 sightings of something other than iBuds. I got a glimpse of some Grado SR-60's and some Bose Triports. The SR-60 guy seemed too into this cans for me to approach. But I spoke with the Triport guy, and he just said he had them because Bose are the best :/

I'd take my 5 Pro's over either of them, but it was heartening to see something other than those silly white earbuds and cheap sony buds. Then again I was in the engineering lounge... engineers like technology...

If I were you, I'd try the ever-classic "Nice cans" line. See if that doesn't earn you a slap in the face

I'd advice stopping at 'hey, nice headphones' and let the conversation carry itself..
