Saw some ESW10s on the subway. I would've been wearing my 9s, but my iPod is on the fritz right now and I'm dying because of it.

Quite a lot of headphones around here. next to the skullcandy's, also a fair amount of the panasonic vintage looking one, many cheapish sennheisers (201 to 457?). and lately some new brand is coming up, 'WESC' ?
Sometimes you see HD555/595 and shiny philipses.

HD555 on a kid in the dining hall. He's a music major, so it wasn't a huge surprise. Also I passed someone with SR80's with comfies. I had to get a close look, I think he noticed me staring.. Anyways first Grados I've seen in the wild.

No way, so did I. Standing next someone on the subway, listening to his hip hop so loud I could hear it still.

Also by far the most popular headphones other than the iBuds/Bose I saw today were the Senn PX100

Only things you can find at my school are either the ipod/sony/skull candy/some other cheap bud, and then the occasional set of really cheap on ears. I think there is one set of skullcandy headphones, but that's about it.

Of course with all of that my portapros and sparkplugs stick out like a sore thumb. I think one conversation I had sums up the general viewpoints of most of the people here. I'll tell them about my phones and they will say

"You should try some skullcandies, they are good."

And of course I'll tell them that they actually are not that good,

"Then what about the bose?"

Same as above, just adding overpriced.

"Man, your saying all the good brands are bad"

Soon as I get another set of cans my portapros are gonna be the "Listen to these then" set.

I was super excited today when I saw a pair of hd555s walk by. Its sad that 555s are something to get this excited about, but I guess thats just a byproduct of seeing nothing but ibuds, skull candy and so on, sigh...
