Have a pair of beyer 770DT that I love but are soooooo hot to wear ...have the "velour"
cups on them and suspect leather would be no different. What do you all do ?

I have the velour pads on my Sony V6's... I didn't wear them too much in the summer but when I did, they did get a little bit warm and sweaty... but it was MUCH worse with the leather pads.

Use pleather pads.
Velour ones get stinky with sweat.

Pleather would sweat even worse.  You'll either have to cool your place down more, or get a headphone that doesn't clamp down so much.  Even something like the D2000 with its pleather pads and closed backing doesn't really get sweaty because it barely clamps.

See..is not the pleather, all is on the clamp force.

Pleather/velour pads have his advantages, depending on the headphone design also.
