Q: I see many of you ordered the Pico with a DAC but many of you also have an iPod or related device without a digital out. How do you plan to use the Pico with DAC?

In my case, yes I'll be using the Pico with my iPod but at home the Pico will get hooked up to my computer to give me a much higher end source than the iPod. In fact I'll probably end up doing that a fair amount at work as well so the iPod won't be seeing nearly as much use anymore. Actually no, that's wrong, at work I can hook the iPod to the computer, the Pico to the computer and use iTunes to listen to music from the iPod via the Pico's DAC and amp. It might not be the optimal solution but it's convenient.

Thanks all- I thought as much -- I was wondering if there was some untethered way to use the Pico DAC. I have a system tied to my computer now and do not need another one (or replacement) but I would like more portability. So I guess it is my iTouch to Pico to headphones.

Now I wonder if I should buy some in-ears phones.

Get Justin to replace the USB with an I2S connector

(but then where would the power come from?)

I don't how useful that would be, it would probably be far easier to find a relatively portable USB solution than it would be to find a portable with I2S connection.

Can this unit work on a hub or does it need to be connected right to one of the computer's USB ports. Some devices don't work well via hubs.

I've been using it plugged into my Dell LCD, and I guess that works as a hub
