Then I am in, Justin. Please add me to the pre-order list for the Pico amp/dac combo, in black and 1.5 ft cable.
Thanks

Thanks for the update Justin. I've been wondering when we should send payment. I sent you an email on Nov.18 to "check in"...I hope you received it, my #73 "EMail?" status is still "N".

I'm using my Meier portable amp/DAC connected to a non-powered Targus 4-USB hub with results that are identical to using a direct USB to laptop connection. I have another hub that uses DC power but did not work well, the problem was limited power...go figure.

BTW, if you have the Pico plugged in via USB do you still need the AC adapter for power?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, the amplifier section is powered via battery/AC while the DAC is powered via USB. If you had the DAC plugged in via USB and the battery was drained then the yes, you'd need AC to power the amp.

Thanks. I had a Total BitHead and I think (though I maybe remembering incorrectly) that while I'm using a DAC the USB will be enough to power the entire device so I could use it w/o batteries.

The Pico headphone amp will always run on the battery and not USB power.
The most important reason is USB is only 5V. The Pico's battery is 2 cells for 8.4V so there is plenty of headroom with full size headphones

HeadAmp - Pico Pre-Order List

Everyone who has asked to be added to the pre-order list, please see the link above, and contact me if...

- I don't have your email address
- Your color/cable choices are wrong or incomplete

I'll be updating that page as much as I can, especially once I start shipping the Pico. Please check it before calling or emailing

Payment is optional until your Pico is ready to ship.

Justin - If you are calling the silver color "clear" then mine needs to be changed from gray to clear (silver) with black lettering. Thanks!

For those of us towards the end of the pre-order list, and based on your 5-10/day estimate, it looks like we shouldn't expect them any earlier than 2nd week of January. Is this about right?

What is the gain set at for each position and how many hours listening time and charge time for the battery?

This maybe be somewhere in here but I didn't see it on the first page or over at headamp.com
