You just grip it and rip it. It's not glued in. I haven't been able to get it out without putting wrinkles in it, but I toss it anyway and replace it with a Beyer leather pad.

^ hehe thanks , the paint color was "Ferrari Red"
HD650 parts are all snap-on, easy to take apart just don't use excessive force.
