Thanks for the link. I was actually up watching that last night. From what I've read in the head-fi forums, upon removing the foam, some members started having problems with their sets and had to get them repaired. I'm not sure if I should do the mod.

Alright first post but I have been lurking around for about a month. I got 280s for my birthday in August and like them a lot after blue tacking them but regretted not doing a little more research as I think I would have preferred. Well as of 5 min ago I own both. How long did it take to get your confirmation emails? I paid though amazon and got an email from them just wondering how long to expect for the EE email.

Side note: I wish I had never gotten in to this hobby... my wallet is crying

. This is my third set of headphones in about a month, at least one of those pairs were KSC75s so they were not that bad.

Listened to the 555s last night. Very good phones but wasnt blown away. Its weird. I heard the 555s are very easy to drive but compared to my iems I have to put the volume much higher on my laptop. Yellow dont feel bad I think this is my third pair in the last 2 weeks lol.

the 555 are easy to drive, but on a laptop usually you have to turn up the volume.  as for the IEM's they are much smaller and don't need that much at all to drive those little things.  by easy to drive, they meant they don't need an amplifier at all to make them sound good.  the 555 are probably the perfect headphone for someone starting out in audio.  either them or the ad700.  i recommend the 555 though so they don't catch the bug and lose all their money.
